The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (DLLR), created in 2010, brings together the departments of French, Italian, Spanish, and, since 2020, Portuguese.
DLLR manages the bachelor’s programs for the four Romance languages, the master’s program in Literature and Civilization – Intercultural Dialogue in the Francophone Space (LCDI), the master’s program in Multilingual and Multicultural Communication in French, Italian, and Spanish (CMM), and collaborates on the master’s program in Current Trends in Linguistics (DAL).
Since 2017, DLLR has been part of the CEEPUS FISH network (French-Italian-Spanish, Romance Languages and Cultures – Strategies of Communication and Culture Transfer in Central Europe), which organizes teaching and student mobility programs and summer schools.
Every two years, DLLR organizes the international conference on Romance languages and literatures, Romania Contexta.
